Objects of study and activity: technologies, buildings, engineering structures, in particular, bridges and tunnels; processes of their design, creation, operation and reconstruction. Theoretical content of the subject area: concepts, concepts, principles, methods and techniques for the creation and maintenance of buildings, engineering structures, including bridges and tunnels.
Methods, techniques and technologies: theoretical and experimental methods of process research, computer and physical modeling methods; methods of design, construction and operation, material selection; technologies for the manufacture of structures, technologies for the construction, reconstruction, restoration, liquidation of construction and waste disposal.
Tools and equipment: hardware, software, and equipment necessary for field, laboratory, and remote research in construction and civil engineering.
Prerequisites for admission: Persons who have completed a complete general secondary education, a junior bachelor's degree and a professional junior bachelor's degree (junior specialist's degree) may apply for a bachelor's degree. Admission on the basis of a junior bachelor's degree, a professional junior bachelor's degree, or a junior specialist's degree is based on the results of an external independent evaluation in accordance with the procedure established by law. For obtaining a bachelor's degree on the basis of a junior bachelor's degree or on the basis of professional pre-university education (“professional junior bachelor”), a higher education institution has the right to recognize and re-credit ECTS credits, with a maximum amount of no more than 60 (according to the Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine No. 593 of 21.05.2021). Provided that the previous level was obtained in another country, the recognition of higher education degrees and documents on secondary, secondary vocational, and vocational education obtained in foreign higher education institutions is carried out in accordance with the current legislation and the standards of the KhNADU.

Requirements and rules for obtaining qualifications, requirements for completion of the curriculum: subject to the implementation of the curriculum, certification of graduates of the educational program of specialty 192 “ Construction and Civil Engineering”, specialization “Bridges and Transport Tunnels” is carried out. Attestation is carried out in the form of a public defense of the bachelor's thesis and ends with the issuance of a standardized document on the award of a bachelor's degree with the qualification of bachelor in civil and structural engineering with a specialization in bridges and transport tunnels. The certification is carried out openly and publicly.

The educational program is focused on creating competencies that will ensure the applicant's ability to solve complex specialized problems and practical issues in construction and civil engineering, in particular in the field of bridges and tunnels, characterized by complexity and difficult conditions. The focus of the program is academic, with integration with the labor market The educational program, based on a student-centered approach, provides applicants with the necessary skills, knowledge and abilities for successful employment and further professional growth. The program takes into account the needs and professional interests of external and internal stakeholders, provides opportunities for academic mobility and individual educational trajectory. The main focus of the program is to provide a high-quality level of education for the applicant to carry out practical, professional activities; providing knowledge in the specialty 192 “ Construction and Civil Engineering”, under the program “Bridges and Transport Tunnels” with wide access to employment.
General higher education and professional training in the field of Architecture and Construction with a degree in Construction and Civil Engineering. The main focus of the program is on the formation and development of professional competencies in the field of transport construction in the design, calculation, construction, operation, repair and reconstruction of bridges and transport tunnels. The emphasis is on the acquisition of skills and knowledge in the construction of transport infrastructure, which implies the ability of applicants to provide diverse construction activities and the possibility of further education and career growth.
The purpose of the program “Bridges and Transport Tunnels” is to provide training for bachelors in the specialty 192 “ Construction and Civil Engineering” to solve complex specialized problems and solve practical issues in the field of architecture and construction, in the field of construction and civil engineering, in particular, the design and construction of bridge and tunnel structures. This involves the acquisition of knowledge, skills and abilities based on the application of theories and methods of relevant sciences, the acquisition of conceptual scientific and practical knowledge, critical understanding of theories, principles, methods and concepts in the field of professional activity and education.
Program features: Participation of applicants in the work of the research laboratory; gaining practical skills on the basis of road construction and bridge construction companies that use the latest technologies and materials in their construction activities. For the applicants of the program, there is an opportunity to master modern software products Autodesk AutoCAD, Civil 3D 2023, Revit 2023, SCAD Office, Allbau Allplan, LIRA CAD with advanced training in this area.
Further education: Opportunity to continue studying at the second (master's) level in Ukraine and abroad; opportunity to improve qualifications (including other programs) in the postgraduate education system, to receive additional postgraduate education.
The study program “Bridges and Transport Tunnels” forms general and professional competencies, which are created on the basis of a balanced use of the experience of scientific and pedagogical work of many educational and other units of KhNADU, on the structural and logical application of theoretical educational components and practices.

The programmatic learning outcomes (PLOs) combine the PLOs from the Higher Education Standard for the specialty 192 “Civil and Environmental Engineering” (17 items) and contain 4 additional ones that reflect the specifics of the study program “Bridges and Transport Tunnels”. All PLOs are aimed at the ability to generate sound, creative ideas during study and future professional activities that can be unambiguously and reasonably perceived in both familiar and unfamiliar situations.
PLO01. Apply basic theories, methods and principles of mathematical, natural, social sciences, humanities and economics, modern models, methods and decision support software to solve complex problems of construction and civil engineering.
PLO02. Participate in research and development in the field of architecture and construction

To design building structures, buildings, structures, engineering networks and technological processes of construction production, taking into account engineering, geological, hydrological factors and resource-saving measures, legal, social, environmental, technical and economic indicators, scientific and ethical aspects, and modern requirements of regulatory documents, time and other restrictions in the field of architecture and construction, environmental protection and occupational safety.
PLO10. To make and implement rational decisions on the organization and management of construction processes in the construction of construction projects and their operation.
PLO11. Assess the compliance of projects with the principles of designing urban areas and infrastructure and municipal services.
PLO12. To have in-depth cognitive and practical skills, mastery and innovation at the level necessary to solve complex specialized problems in the field of civil and structural engineering, in particular in bridge and tunnel construction.

PLO14. Determine and evaluate the load and stress-strain state of soil bases and load-bearing structures of buildings and transport structures (bridges and tunnels). To know the methods of evaluation of measurements, their processing, using the apparatus of computational mathematics. Ability to use appropriate computer software and information technology to calculate both individual elements and structures as a whole, using software packages and simplified methods in conditions of insufficient information.
PLO15. Have knowledge of modern design and construction technologies. Ability to rationally organize the technological processes of construction, reconstruction, and decoration of buildings and structures in conjunction with installation schemes, with appropriate construction mechanisms and machines, with the characteristics of the surrounding space. Organize and manage construction processes in the construction, operation and reconstruction of roads, bridges and tunnels.
PLO16. Perform technical control and quality management of construction products. Perform work on technical supervision and control of materials, products and technologies in the process of construction and reconstruction of bridge crossings and tunnels. Work with geodetic instruments, use topographic materials in the design and construction of facilities, in the organization of construction quality control.
PLO 17. To know the regulatory framework of relations in the field of design, construction and operation of roads and bridge structures on them to meet the needs of the state and citizens with the results of activities. To organize the implementation of labor protection requirements in the construction, repair and operation of bridge and tunnel structures, based on the current provisions of legislation and regulations. To master the basic methods of identifying technological risks, threats and hazards in the workplace and apply them in the development of measures to improve occupational safety, protect workers from the possible consequences of accidents at work.

The implementation of the educational and professional program provides an opportunity to

Practice/internship: Educational practice (geodesy), Comprehensive educational practice (engineering geology; soil science and soil mechanics; hydraulics, hydrology, hydrometry) are held under the guidance of experienced teachers in the laboratories of KhNADU and at specially organized training grounds. Industrial practice takes place at the leading enterprises of the industry, as well as on the basis of the graduating department.

According to the Standard of Higher Education in the specialty 192 “Construction and Civil Engineering” for the first (bachelor's) level of higher education, the field of professional activity is the creation of facilities in the field of construction and civil engineering, including design, construction (new construction, reconstruction, restoration, overhaul) and operation of facilities.

The departments that ensure the implementation of the educational program are: The Department of Bridges, Structures, and Structural Mechanics, named after V. O. Rossiyskoho, is the graduation department. Other departments include Construction and Operation of Highways, named after O. K. Birul; Higher Mathematics; Ecology; Economics and Entrepreneurship; Foreign Languages; Computer Science and Applied Mathematics; Engineering and Computer Graphics; Metrology and Life Safety; Road Design; and Geodesy and Land Management. The following departments are also involved: Theory of Machines and Mechanisms, Technology of Road Construction Materials (named after Prof. Volkov M.I.), Ukrainian Studies, Physics, Philosophy and Pedagogy of Professional Training, and Chemistry and Chemical Technology.
Graduates of the "Bridges and Transport Tunnels" program, specializing in "Civil and Environmental Engineering" (192), are attested to in the form of a public defense of their thesis. This process culminates in the issuance of a document of the established sample.
