Levterov Andrey Ivanovich in 1973 graduated from the Kharkov Institute of Radio Electronics (KHIRE) with a degree in Electronic Computing Machines and received the qualification of an electrical engineer. In the same year, he began work at the Omega defense enterprise in Uralsk as an engineer in the department of the plant's chief technologist. In 1974, for health reasons, he returned to Kharkov and began work at the Ukrainian Metal Research Institute.

Since 10.06.1974 he works at the Kharkov Automobile and Road Institute in the following positions: from 10.06.74 to 1.03.1975 he worked at the Department of Automation and Computer Engineering as an engineer at the NDH; from 01.03.75 to 15.05.80 - assistant of the same department; from 15.05.80 to 2.02.81 - senior researcher at the Department of Cars; from 2.02.81 to 08.09.84 - senior researcher at the Department of Automation and Computer Engineering; 08.09.84 in 27.04.90 - assistant of the same department. In June 1989 he defended his thesis for the degree of candidate of technical sciences in the specialty 05.13.05 "Elements and devices of computer equipment and control systems" and from 27.04.90 to 31.08.92 - Associate Professor of the Department. In 1991, he received the academic title of assistant professor in the Department of Automation and Computer Engineering. From 31.08.92 to 15.02.2001 - Associate Professor of the Department of Informatics, and from 15.02.2001 to 09.03.2011 - Head of the Department of Informatics. From 01.06.2006 to 1.11.2016 he worked as dean of the faculty of mechatronics of vehicles and after renaming the faculty - dean of the faculty of computer technology and mechatronics. 30.01.2009 years was awarded the academic title of professor of KHNADU. From 1.11.2016 to the present, Levterov Andrei Ivanovich works as the head of the Department of Informatics and Applied Mathematics.

While working at the university, he proved to be a skillful, demanding teacher who knows how to work and find an individual approach to each student. Therefore, in 2001, 2006 and 2011, A. I. Levterov was the winner in the nomination "The Best Teacher through the Eyes of Students" and was awarded the Diplomas of the Rector of the University and the badge of II and III degrees "For Merit to the University Staff." Levterov A.I. takes an active part in the research work of the department. He is the author of more than 200 scientific and methodological works, of which: 1 monograph, 1 textbook, 12 tutorials, 75 patents and copyright certificates, 37 methodological guidelines. His scientific interests include information and computer technologies, deploying laser systems for modeling traffic flows. He was the head of 1 graduate student who successfully defended his thesis.

Andrey Ivanovich has high efficiency, perseverance, determination, responsible attitude to his duties. He devotes a lot of time to improving his scientific and methodological level, works to ensure high performance and quality of his work, approaches to solving tasks creatively. All these qualities, as well as benevolence and willingness to come to the rescue, arouse sincere respect from colleagues.

For many years of conscientious work, Levterov Andrey Ivanovich was awarded Certificates of Honor, Diplomas and Gratitude: Rector of the University (2006), District State Administration (2006), City Executive Committee (2008), Mayor (2014), Kharkov Regional State Administration (2009), Regional Council of the Society of Inventors and Innovators (2018), Highway Services in the Kharkov Region (2019), Department of Science and Education of the Kharkov Regional State Administration (2013), Kharkiv Regional State Administration (2019), Transport Academy of Ukraine (2012), MES of Ukraine (2006), Badge of the Ministry of Education of Ukraine "Excellence in Education" (2012), Higher Award of the Ministry of Education of Ukraine "For Scientific and Educational Achievements" (2021). In 2012, Levterov Andrey Ivanovich became the winner of the All-Ukrainian competition of inventors of Ukraine "Inventor - 2012."

Levterov A.I. has experience in developing international projects. So in 2017, an international project was organized for the in-depth study of the German language by a group of students of KHNADU. Classes were conducted by teachers of the Leifan Institute in Lüneburg (Germany) on-line in the form of a webinar.
